Technology resources abound at Union Public Schools. We have just purchased two new laptop carts for use with 4th-8th grade students. These 57 laptops, located on the two carts, can be rolled into the classroom so that an entire class can access the internet, take Accelerated Reader (AR) tests, or participate in a number of desktop publishing activities.

We also have 2 new projectors which can be checked out and used in the classroom for whole class instruction. Utilizing a video on demand site that Union has a license to use this school year, teachers can demonstrate and discuss while students can SEE everything from mitosis to a re-enactment of various Civil War battles.

Speaking of AR, students have a wonderful opportunity to earn some fabulous prizes for reading! At the end of the year, total points will be tallied and some lucky students will walk away with such prizes as portable DVD Players, Game Boys, Play Stations, bicycles, scooters, CD’s, spirit T-shirts, pizza parties, and more! We have set a school wide goal of 100 points per student. Special congratulations to those students who have reached their goal for the first nine weeks! We have students who already have 89 or more points. Way to go!

I’ve tried to include something for everyone on this site. Check out the buttons at the top of the page to access something to do now. Good luck and have fun!
